1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how pages are used. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which serve similar purposes.
UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, PECR) requires us to tell you what cookies and similar technologies we use and, where required, to obtain your consent before using them.
2. What we currently use
The Ori marketing website is a static website. We currently use only the following:
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Type | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Self-hosted fonts (Inter, Lora) | Ori (served from heyori.app) | The website loads the Inter and Lora typefaces from our own server. No request is made to Google or any third party to load fonts. No IP address is sent to Google as part of font loading. | No cookie is stored. Font files are served from our own domain. | No — no third-party transfer, no tracking, no consent required. |
| Local storage (script.js) | Ori |
The website's JavaScript uses sessionStorage to
remember the mobile navigation state (open/closed) for the
current page visit only. This is cleared when you close the
browser tab.
|
Strictly necessary for navigation functionality | No — session state only, not persistent, not tracking. |
We do not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing scripts on this website.
3. If we add analytics or other tools
If we add website analytics (such as Plausible, Fathom, or Google Analytics) or any other tool that sets cookies or uses tracking technologies, we will:
- update this Cookie Notice before or when those tools are enabled;
- display a cookie consent banner if the tools require prior consent under PECR or UK GDPR;
- not activate analytics or advertising cookies without your consent where consent is required.
4. The Ori app
The Ori mobile app does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. It uses your device's local storage and secure keychain to store app preferences, session state, and locally cached data. This is necessary for the app to function and is governed by our Privacy Policy.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the website to stop working correctly.
